The Green & Pleasant Guide

What's it all about

The Green & Pleasant Guide is an animated comedy web series about the weirdest place in the entire world: the countryside.

Imagine chucking Look Around You, Countryfile and South Park into a giant thresher. The resulting mulch is this funny little web series, in which our perma-smiled presenter reveals all you need to know about the Great British Countryside™, from its vengeful cows to its world-renowned dogging.

Released throughout June 2021, the four short-but-sweet episodes (each between three and four minutes long) focus on the rural topics of 'Rambling', 'Cows', 'Campsites' and 'Stately Homes'.

We are looking for :

In the short term, we are looking for some marketing and social media professionals to help this series reach a wider audience.
In the longer term, we would like to turn these four mini taster episodes into a full series of six 10-minute episodes - either as a web series or for broadcast. So we are looking for an experienced and talented producer who can help us with the financing, marketing, distribution and all those other vital producery skills that we are sorely lacking. The existing web series demonstrates that there is an audience out there for this show - but we need your expertise to find it and grow it.

In terms of episode content, we'd look to cover some larger topics that incorporate some of what we already have - for example, an episode on outdoor activities with a small section on rambling, and an episode on animals/wildlife with a small section on cows. Then, in other episodes, we would aim to cover some entirely different aspects of the British countryside, such as trees and plants, country pubs, farmers, folk/music festivals, castles, food and drink, B&Bs and model villages.

As the initial web series was self-funded, we have a good idea of the budget required for producing six 10-minute episodes - and it's significantly less than most broadcastable 10-minute comedies. We'd be happy to provide a breakdown of production costs on request, and answer any other questions you might have.
